ANDREW M. MCKINLEY
Andrew M. McKinley is an Associate
with Alexander & Associates. Mr.
McKinley received his Juris Doctor degree,
with honors, from Emory University School of Law in 2012. While in law school, Mr. McKinley served as
Executive Managing Editor for the Emory Law Journal. He received the Journal's 2011 Blue Pen
Award, which is given annually to the most outstanding second-year editor. Mr. McKinley was also one of twelve law students
who had their student comment selected for publication by the Emory Law Journal. Mr. McKinley's published comment was entitled, "Testing Our Teachers." Mr. McKinley
also was a member of the Dean's List in multiple semesters.
school, Mr. McKinley has practiced in the areas of school law, employment law,
and administrative law. Mr. McKinley's legal
experiences include defending clients against claims in state and federal court
involving various matters, including breach of contract, tort, mandamus
petitions, due process, Equal Protection, First Amendment retaliation,
discrimination and retaliation in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights
Act of 1964; drafting and revising policies and procedures to be implemented by
an employer; drafting and negotiating settlement agreements; handling all
aspects of hearings under the Fair Dismissal Act, as well as subsequent appeals
to the Georgia State Board of Education and superior courts; and providing overall
legal advice in school law, employment law, and administrative law matters.
Mr. McKinley is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
